EARLVILLE OPERA HOUSE AWARDS $162,000 IN ARTS GRANTS!

The Earlville Opera House (EOH) announces $162,000 in cultural funding to 44 non-profit organizations and artists through the 2024 Arts in the Community Grants Program (ACG) for Broome, Chenango & Otsego Counties.  $15,000 of this funding has been provided for Broome County by the Stewart W. & Willma C. Hoyt Foundation.

Arts in the Community Grants replaced the grant programs known as Decentralization (DEC) and State Community Regrants (SCR) and continues funding opportunities for not for profit organizations, municipalities and Tribal Nations, and individual artists or collectives.

“This year’s application process was very competitive” said Earlville Opera House ACG Program Director Victoria Kappel. “We received over $420,000 in requests from organizations, municipalities, and artists throughout our service area. This shows both the vibrancy and importance of cultural programming to our communities as well as the great need for continued support of such a critical component of our rural area. We are particularly pleased to have been able to offer more funding for individual artists this year to create new works of art that will involve and benefit their communities.”

The Broome, Chenango & Otsego ACG Program serves as a catalyst for local cultural development by supporting projects of artists and arts organizations that engage children, adults and seniors in events that enrich and enhance their lives. Funding provided through these programs helps to strengthen our communities by reaching the most rural of our townships and villages, providing increased access to a greater quality of life through the arts.  Earlville Opera House has been strongly rooted in the artistic community since 1892 and remains committed to that legacy of community service established over three different centuries.
