EARLVILLE OPERA HOUSE AND THE NEW YORK STATE COUNCIL ON THE ARTS AWARD $124,500 THROUGH STATEWIDE COMMUNITY REGRANTS!

The Earlville Opera House (EOH) and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) announce $124,500 in cultural funding to 52 not-for-profit organizations and artists through the 2026 Statewide Community Regrants Program (SCR) for Broome, Chenango & Otsego Counties. $16,500 of this funding has been provided for Broome County by the Stewart W. & Willma C. Hoyt Foundation.

Statewide Community Regrants provide funding opportunities for not-for-profit organizations, municipalities and Tribal Nations, and individual artists or artist collectives. They are awarded through a peer-review panel process representing all three of the eligible counties.

The Statewide Community Regrants Program is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

“This year’s application process was, as always, very competitive” said Earlville Opera House SCR Program Director Victoria Kappel. “We received nearly $227,000 in requests from organizations, municipalities, and artists throughout our service area. This shows both the vibrancy and importance of cultural programming to our communities as well as the great need for continued support of such a critical component of our rural area. Not only do the arts provide enjoyable experiences for our residents, but they also serve as an economic boost for local communities.”

The Broome, Chenango & Otsego SCR Program serves as a catalyst for local cultural development by supporting projects of artists and arts organizations that engage children, adults and seniors in events that enrich and enhance their lives. Funding provided through these programs helps to strengthen our communities by reaching the most rural of our townships and villages, providing increased access to a greater quality of life through the arts. Earlville Opera House has been strongly rooted in the artistic community since 1892 and remains committed to that legacy of community service established over three different centuries.
