I have always loved making things and my favorite material is metal. Since high school, I have designed and created sculptures with steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper, as well as glass, fiberglass, carbon fiber, cement and other natural materials.
I am trained as a jeweler, welder, and machinist, and have worked in engineering and custom fabrication shops. Several years ago, I returned to making things of my own design.
Everything that I make is handcrafted, starting with plain sheet metal, wire, and various steel bar. My jewelry blends sterling silver sheet metal and wire with copper, and my lamps incorporate sheet mica.
I take pride in the quality of my craftsmanship. It provides a framework for my creativity and is like my signature.
While my work reflects my training and expertise in industrial techniques, I draw my inspiration from the shapes, balance, and forces of nature.
I am especially inspired by the works of Alexander Calder and Frank Lloyd Wright.
